Teaching Stress Management and Resiliency Training (SMART) Class at New College of Florida

In 2016, Dr. Harlin became the first U.S. physician fully certified by the Benson-Henry Institute for Mind Body Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) to provide its Stress Management and Resiliency Training (SMART) program. At the same time, he was appointed as an adjunct professor to teach SMART at New College of Florida (NCF).

The Human Genome Project and the Precision Medicine Initiative, both led by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), have significantly advanced our understanding of the pathogenesis of disease.  Transitioning from reconstructive surgery to precision medicine was a natural evolution for Dr. Harlin.  It has allowed him to combine his love of medical research and database programming, and bring current advances in scientific discovery into clinical practice. He continues to immerse himself in new research and direct development updates of The Harlin Center’s clinical decision support software (CDSS). The center’s software enables Dr. Harlin to analyze big data, determine the root causes of disease, and to diagnose with much greater accuracy than he would otherwise be able to do.

The Harlin Center for Precision Medicine is a true leader in genomics-based primary care and preventive healthcare. We specialize in combining a detailed interpretation of your genome and microbiome with an exceptionally comprehensive clinical examination.  Dr. Harlin has a sincere desire to enhance patient health and reduce age-related disease risk through an understanding of each patient’s genetics and lifestyle choices, which are at the root of disease susceptibility.  For patients seeking real and sustainable health improvement and truly compassionate care, we are here for you.
